The true history of this race was originally started by two famous wine makers back in 1897. You may have drunk Ernesto and Giulio Gallo wine; if you haven’t it’s delicious.
The Grand Fondo starts and finishes with 30kms of riding on the famous white gravel roads, just like the Pro’s.
Our Hotel is perfectly placed in the town centre, just 1000 meters from the start line and the central area to explore Siena. This trip has something for everybody, both cycling and non-cycling partners alike. A classic one day pro race which is almost the first of the season, an Italian Gran Fondo, where you can place yourself in the Piazza del Campo arch or in the finish square itself and soak up the adrenalin rush as the Pro’s weave their way through up the cobbled streets. Siena has truly stunning architecture with great restaurants and pizzerias. The trip is on a bed and breakfast basis, as there are so many great places to eat in the town of Sienna.
