Sierra Nevada (Spain)
Road & Mountain Biking Trips
Why
Unspoilt area of Spain, rural and rustic Spain. Quieter than Mallorca, great roads, great weather and friendly car drivers (unlike the UK).
Proper Tapas when you order a drink in all local bars. This is authentic Spain at it’s very best.
Economical cycling with a great choice of cafes, riding, both road and challenging levels of mountain bike trails for all levels.
We can offer both Road & Mountain biking options on this trip.
When
March, April, May, September, October, November. Typically on average the weather is mild and dry during these months. 15-26c.
You can ride in the summer months, June, July & August however early mornings or early evenings would be best.
It can be much warmer during the winter than the UK, for instance December, January & February can still have many sunny days in the mid teens, but can be rainy. Anythings got to be better than a damp day in the UK right!
Where
Staying in a lovely rustic Spanish farmhouse in a small village called Alquife. It is located on the northern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, at about 700 meters from the village of Alquife (18518 Granada), between almond and olive groves. From the ground floor lounge you have a marvellous view on the Picón de Jeres and the Sierra Nevada National Park is a fine place for cycling and mountain biking.
The apartment is quiet and convenient and the next neighbour lives 500 metres further down the road.
It is situated up a dusty single track road, with bedrooms located on the top floor with shared balcony and stunning views over the mountains. Downstairs there is a shared kitchen with everything you need for a pleasant stay, including Fridge, gas hob etc. Outside area with table, chairs, umbrella and BBQ area.
